A burglar who stole jewellery worth £11,267 from a suburban house in Dublin has been jailed for three years. Richard Callaghan is a "crossaddict" with drugs and alcohol abuse problems, Judge Carroll Moran was told at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. Callaghan (25), of Thomas McDonagh Tower, Ballymun, Dublin, pleaded guilty to the burglary on May 22nd, 1997. Det Garda Campbell said Callaghan had 12 previous convictions and was serving 20 months.
