The burial of the late Mrs Mary O'Hara (72), of Dreen agh East, Ballyheigue, Co Kerry, who died on April 22nd, went ahead yesterday despite the fact that a family dispute over the ownership of a grave, which delayed her funeral for more than a week, remains unresolved. She was due to be buried in Ballyheigue cemetery on Friday, April 23rd, following Requiem Mass in the parish church. However, the burial never took place, as shortly before the funeral Mass the open grave which was to receive her remains was filled in.
Two of the late Mrs O'Hara's daughters, Sile and Kathy, were claiming ownership of the grave in which Mrs O'Hara's late husband, Henry (77), who died on March 27th, 1995, is buried.
