The long-running Mullagh more saga, which has spanned the 1990s, is set to continue into the new year. An Bord Pleanala yesterday informed parties to the appeal that a decision would be made into the appeal "as soon as practicable". The appeal has been made by the Minister for the Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands, Ms de Valera.
A Bord Pleanala source indicated it was likely that a decision would not be made until the new year. In a letter, the board said the preparation of the inspector's report into the case was at a fairly advanced stage. The planning application for visitor facilities in the Burren National Park has been in the planning process for more than three years.
