Water supplies to north county Dublin were disrupted yesterday after a water main burst. Malahide and Swords experienced the worst shortages with many households cut off from early afternoon.
There were reports of intermittent cut-offs and of reduced water pressure in Skerries, Balbriggan and Rush. Other parts of the area which are supplied by a separate water line were not affected.
Full services were not expected to be restored until 9 o'clock this morning at the earliest, Fingal County Council said.
Emergency water supplies were sent to Swords and Malahide last night.
