Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann fares go up today.
Dublin Bus adult fares are to rise by 10 cent, with the exception of the €1 fare, which is going up by five cent. Children's fares are rising by five cent.
Bus Éireann fares are increasing by an average of 5 per cent. The fare hike will apply on all services.
The increases follow the 6.6 per cent rise in Luas fares, which came into effect on Monday.
The new Dublin Bus rates are: stages 1-3, €1.05; stages 4-7, €1.50; stages 8-13, €1.70; over 14 stages, €2; outer suburban 1, €2; outer suburban 2, €3.30, and outer suburban 3, €4.30.
The schoolchild fare for under 16-year-olds is now €0.60 for all stages; for children's fares for under-16s, stages 1-7 will cost €0.75, and stage 7 and over, €0.95.
Dart, Intercity and Commuter fares are also affected. An adult single rail fare from Dublin to Cork will now cost €59.50 and €45.50 to Limerick.
