Buses in Dublin today displayed black ribbons as a mark of respect to five people killed when a bus crashed into passengers queuing at a city centre stop a week ago.
The entire Dublin Bus fleet was decked out with the ribbons tied to their wing mirrors.
The tribute was paid as the funeral of the last victim took place. Mother of four Kathleen Gilton (69) was buried after a funeral mass in Maynooth. Her daughter, Nuala, was one of the seven people injured in the accident on Wellington Quay last Saturday.
Three Irish women, an Irish man and a Ukrainian died when an out of service bus passed another on the inside and mounted a kerb before slamming into a group of passengers queuing to board the stationary bus.
Gardaí are preparing to reconstruct the events of the bus crash tomorrow.
It will being at 6 a.m. and the Wellington Quay area will be sealed off for several hours.
Dublin Bus is supplying three busses identical to those at the stop last weekend, but it is understood they will be driven by gardaí.
Detectives trying to establish how a bus drove into the passengers will be joined by an international team of investigators brought in by Dublin Bus as part of their own investigation.
Superintendent Tom Conway, who is leading the Garda investigation, said it was hoped more information about specifics of the accident would be gained by the reconstruction.
