The Irish Marine Emergency Service recorded a number of rescues yesterday, with call outs at Shannon, Waterford, Clare, Wexford, Galway and Donegal.
The Fethard inshore lifeboat came to the aid of a 14 ft boat with engine failure off Cullenstown strand, Waterford, while the Lough Swilly lifeboat towed in a yacht off Donegal which had fouled its propeller. A fishing vessel with engine trouble off Kilmore Quay was towed into port by the Kilmore Quay lifeboat in Co Wexford.
The service's medium range helicopter from Shannon came to the aid of a catamaran with 12 people on board which was taking in water off Kilbaha bay, Co Clare. Seven anglers in a boat adrift off Inverin, Connemara, were also assisted.
