New York - THE chief UN arms inspector, Mr Richard Butler, said yesterday he would leave his post when his contract expired in June but stressed that his tenure was far less important than completing Iraq's disarmament.
His comments to reporters confirmed what had been anticipated for some time but were the clearest statement yet of his intentions. But he chastised reporters for concentrating on his own future rather than on Iraq's concealment of documents and materials relating to its weapons of mass destruction.
