Jenson Button wants to know why he is struggling at the start of races as he fears it could cost him his first Formula One win.
Button was eclipsed at the start of Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix by the Renaults of Jarno Trulli and Fernando Alonso, with even team-mate Takuma Sato making a better start.
The Frome-born driver is concerned he is losing valuable ground at a crucial point of the race, and hopes for a solution in time for this weekend's European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring.
Speaking about his Monaco start, he said: "I didn't feel I could have done anything else. I thought it was a pretty good start and I saw Alonso fly by me and Taku right behind. I came out third which wasn't too bad.
"I think our cars worked pretty well. Everywhere we should have a chance, but the Renaults are going to be very strong. We need to work out why we lose out, or I lose out at the start. Maybe it's my reaction, but I don't think so," he said.
"If I qualify on pole for example I won't be leading the race at the first corner - I'm sure we can sort that out."
