The Taoiseach has confirmed that the writs for the by-elections in Dublin North and Limerick East will be moved on Tuesday. The date of election, he said, would be "somewhere around March 11th or 12th".
The Labour leader, Mr Ruairi Quinn, informed the Ceann Comhairle yesterday that he intended to move the writ for the Limerick East byelection on Tuesday. The Government has indicated that it will accept the Labour motion and move the writ for the Dublin North by-election on the same day.
