Greencore chairman Mr Bernie Cahill is to stand down from the board of the Irish food company after a special resolution to remove the mandatory retirement age of 70 failed to attract enough support at today's AGM.
The resolution to scrap the age limit needed the approval of 75 per cent of the votes cast in the poll in person or by proxy.
The result of the poll showed the resolution only attracted 69.4 per cent of votes cast.
