The mother of a 16-year-old boy who died from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (Sads) while playing with his brothers has called on the Government to drop VAT on defibrillators.
Robert Manning died on August 31st, 2002, in the garden of his home in Cratloe, Co Clare.
Since then his mother, Bríd Manning, has raised €38,500 to purchase defibrillators and facilitate CPR training for sporting clubs. Each automatic external defibrillator costs €2,000.
She says defibrillators should be made mandatory in shopping centres and GAA centres.
