Your name is Bond, James Bond. You need no more introduction. In this latest release from Nintendo, be prepared to be both shaken (thanks to the Rumble Pak, if you have one) and stirred.

Although released two years after its cinematic cousin, Golden- Eye has been worth the wait. It's brilliant, a 3D shoot-em-up that combines Doom-style play with some excellent espionage scenarios.

It's no use blasting your way through without a care in the world. This game requires a lot more tact. Gameplayers must immerse themselves into the role of the world's best-known secret agent and use spy-style tactics to complete the 20 covert operations included.

As bad as things may get, there is no reason to feel alone. All the characters from the Bond series are here to help you along the way. Q, M and even Moneypenny are here to give advice or - in Q's case - supply you with all the necessary gadgets: there is a host of them to get to grips with. For example, the standard-issue watch has a host of functions. It can turn from being a super-magnet in one mission to being a detonator for remote control mines in another.

There are three different difficulty settings which, in effect, means that you can play the game three times over. Each setting (Agent, Secret Agent and 00 Agent) has a different set of objectives to complete and if you manage to get through a mission within the given time-limit you will enable the cheat modes. What more encouragement do you need?

GoldenEye is simply a must have game. Not only is the one-player mission-based game superb, it also allows up to four players to play various scenarios against each other. It also has an in-built game-save feature that saves your game after each mission is completed. If you are planning on putting a game on your Christmas list this year, look no further than GoldenEye. It's stirring stuff indeed.
