Cannabis seized at Cork port

A man is being questioned today in connection with the seizure of €200,000 worth of cannabis in Cork.

A man is being questioned today in connection with the seizure of €200,000 worth of cannabis in Cork.

Customs officers found 20 kilos cannabis herb hidden in the boot of a car which had arrived from France at Ringaskiddy Ferry Port yesterday afternoon.

Customs officers arrested the sole occupant of the vehicle, a Polish man in his early 20s. He had travelled from Roscoff in Brittany to Cork.

Gardaí are questioning the man at the Bridewell Garda station in Cork city. He can be held for up to seven days.
