Canon Michael Perham, of the Church of England Liturgical Commission, is leading a one-day course in the Theological College on "Liturgical Celebration - President and People", today, as part of the expanding extra-mural programme. Tomorrow, under the auspices of Affirming Catholicism Ireland, he is due to give seminars on "Leading Public Worship" in St Anne's Cathedral, Belfast, while in the Theological College Dr Johanna Sinanen-Merry will lead a lunchtime session on "The Self and Ministry", details of which may be had from the college: 01-4923506.
The Executive Committee of the Representative Church Body will meet on Wednesday in Church of Ireland House, Dublin, while in London the Archbishop of Armagh will preach at the National Service for Seafarers in St Paul's Cathedral.
On Thursday evening in Eglinton, the Bishop of Derry, Dr Mehaffey, will re-hallow St Canice's church after major repairs and thereafter will institute the Rev John Blair as incumbent of the parish. In St Thomas's church, Cathal Brugha Street, Dublin, the lunchtime talk at 1.10 p.m. on the theme "I believe . . ." will be given by Sister Stanislaus Kennedy.
On Friday, the World Wide President of the Mothers' Union, Lady Eames, will speak in Mullingar. In St Patrick's church, Greystones, the Ballerup Kammerkor Chamber Choir from Denmark will give a concert in aid of parish funds.
