Everton's Lee Carsley is set to fly to Dublin to join up with the rest of the Republic of Ireland squad after proving his fitness for the Goodison Park club's reserve team tonight.
Carsley has missed the start of the season with a knee injury but returned to action in tonight's FA Premier Reserve League match with Wolves at Haig Avenue which Everton won 5-0.
Carsley laid on the second goal when his corner was headed in by Sean O'Hanlon and then provided Duncan Ferguson with his second goal of the night and Everton's third when his free-kick was headed home by the Scot.
Patrizio Pascucci netted Everton's fourth goal, and Nick Chadwick the fifth. Carsley was substituted after an hour.
