The number of cases of confirmed foot-and-mouth disease in Britain has risen to 264, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food said today.
The latest cases were in Lydney, Gloucestershire; Accrington, Lancashire; Okehampton, Devon; Powys, Wales; and the Isle of Sheppey, Kent.
The national total includes the single outbreak in Northern Ireland. The latest cases involved cattle, sheep and pigs.
