A man who died in a Garda station cell in Trim, Co Meath, yesterday was alone in the cell when he died, and his death was not being treated as suspicious.
Preliminary results of a post-mortem by the Assistant State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy, indicated that Martin Hickey (29) of Robinstown, Navan, died from strangulation.
He had been arrested by gardai in Trim under the Public Order Act at around 4.40 a.m.
