The yacht once owned by Charles J Haughey, Celtic Mist, has completed the first leg of the 2011 Tall Ships race to Scotland and will return to Ireland next week.
“A respectable last in our class,” was how the yacht’s skipper, Fiacc Ó Brolcháin, described the performance of the only Irish entry in this year’s race. The 52-foot motor sailor ketch was recently donated by the Haughey family to the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group for research purposes, and entered under its banner.
