Multiple Sclerosis Ireland chief executive Graham Love has resigned for personal reasons, it was revealed today.

The organisation said financial officer Paul Flood would take over in an temporary capacity. A spokesman for MS Ireland said Mr Love's resignation was in no way connected with a recent independent service audit.
This audit recommended four areas where service provision could improved, and this led to the temporary closure of the respite care centre in Dublin on Bushy Park Road in Rathgar.
The spokesman said that after additional training for its staff, the centre, which provides respite care and therapy services, would reopen early next week.
He said the audit had identified the need for increased physiotherapy, more specialist respite care, more occupational therapy and more home care services.
MS Ireland has put together a proposal for the provision of these services and is in talks with the Health Service Executive about funding.
