Out-of-court talks took place yesterday between lawyers for both sides in the action taken by a child, who suffers from cerebral palsy, against the National Maternity Hospital and a consultant obstetrician, Dr Joseph Stanley.
The case of Blaise Gallagher (6), suing by his mother Mrs Avril Gallagher, of Roundwood, Co Wicklow, against the NMH, Holles Street, Dublin, and Dr Stanley, entered its 22nd day yesterday. Mr Justice Quirke consented to an application by Mr Richard Law Nesbitt SC, for the child, that the hearing be adjourned until today.
