Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood criticised his players today over their unacceptable disciplinary record under manager Arsene Wenger.

Hill-Wood added he would be talking to Wenger over the team's behaviour on the pitch which has seen 44 red cards issued during the Frenchman's reign. His comments came after Ray Parlour's dismissal this week brought the total of red cards to 12 for the season.

"Some of the time we have been a bit unlucky, but you can't say that all of the time," Hill-Wood told the Star. "It is an issue we need to tackle. Our players are not behaving well enough on the field at the moment, I am afraid to say."

"It is unsatisfactory and unacceptable and I have spoken to Arsene about it before and I am certainly going to talk to him again. Unfortunately, I don't have a simple solution, but players must accept they have to be criticised occasionally.

"I don't think Arsene is ever going to do that in public, but I can assure you he does behind the scenes - because this is something he is concerned about too," Hill-Wood said.
