Round-up
Defending champion Roger Federer today breezed into the third round of Wimbledon with a ruthless demolition of Alejandro Falla.
Federer had not been in action since Monday afternoon's straight-sets victory over Britain's Alex Bogdanovic due to the bad weather, but looked in equally commanding form on court one.
The world number one and top seed was simply a class apart from his 20-year-old Colombian opponent, who had to battle through qualifying at Roehampton last week, racing to a 6-1 6-2 6-0 victory in just 54 minutes.
Wimbledon number two seed Andy Roddick was given a thorough workout in his rain-hit first round clash with Yeu-Tzuoo Wang before emerging 6-3 7-5 6-4 winner.
Wang, ranked 181 in the world, was expected to provide the big hitting American with few problems but he showed an impressive array of shots and gave a good account of himself, particularly in the second set.
Roddick's booming serve proved decisive, however, with the 21-year-old - who last week registered the fastest serve of all time at 153mph - firing 18 aces and enjoying 41 unreturned serves.
The showers seemed to work in Wang's favour as he appeared a more composed player when the match resumed on Centre Court today, despite swiftly losing the first set which Roddick led 4-2 at the start of the day.
Serving for the second set, Roddick was forced to deuce as Wang refused to cave in but a pinpoint second service proved too much for his opponent who scooped his return into the net.
Roddick made the perfect start to the third set by securing the break before going on to win it 6-4 to book a second round appointment with Alexander Peya of Austria.
Goran Ivanisevic pulled off a spectacular 4-6 7-6 1-6 6-3 6-4 comeback victory over Italy's Filippo Volandri to set up a third-round showdown with Lleyton Hewitt.
Britain's Greg Rusedski beat Davide Sanguinetti of Italy 7-5 4-6 6-2 6-2.
