English third division Chesterfield have been put into financial administration, BBC Radiosaid today.
The troubled club, who were subject to a winding-up order earlier this month, have been placed in the hands of Manchester-based accountants as they attempt to settle debts of stg£650,000, Radio Five Livereported.
In April the club was taken over by supporters, who bought a 78 percent stake for stg£6,240 before forming the Chesterfield Football Supporters Society.
The Derbyshire club had nine points deducted by a Football League inquiry into financial irregularities last month.
However, the team celebrated promotion to the second division on Saturday as a 3-0 win over Halifax Town guaranteed their third position in the league.
