Liverpool's Bruno Cheyrou has denied reports he will be returning to France after a disappointing debut season at Anfield.

The France international has recently been linked with a move that would reunite him with his former manager Vahid Halilhodzic of Paris Saint Germain.

"I will stay at Liverpool," the midfielder insisted on planetfootball.com, "Houllier has just renewed his trust in me.

"I can tell you that there has been no phone call recently," added the Frenchman. "Liverpool is a dream place. A mythical place. I must be equal to the place, never give up".

Meanwhile, Auxerre coach Guy Roux has again insisted that his crop of young French stars are not for sale even if they are coveted by his friend and countryman, Houllier.

Houllier has made no secret about his interest in striker Djibril Cisse and defender Jean-Alain Boumsong but Roux is determined that the players see out their contracts.

"I have heard the talk about Cisse - and Boumsong and (Philippe) Mexes - but they are contracted to this club, and I don't want them to leave.

"Cisse has a contract until 2007, and it has to be respected. I know Gerard well, but that alters nothing" he added.

Houllier will be hoping he can convince his compatriot to change his mind when the two meet up at the end of the month to discuss their respective situations.
