Six children have appeared in court in Britain charged with the manslaughter of a pensioner.
The youngsters, aged from 10 to 15, were before a youth court of the Pennine Magistrates Court in Reedley, Lancashire, following the death of Mrs Sheila Bridge, 62.
Mrs Bridge collapsed and died shortly after complaining to police that a gang of youngsters were causing a nuisance outside her home.
All six , two girls and four boys, were charged with manslaughter, burglary and a public order offence following an incident at Mrs Bridge's home in Nelson, Lancashire.
Mrs Bridge cared full time for her sick husband, Fred, at their semi-detached bungalow.
The youngsters, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were accompanied throughout the five-and-a-half hour hearing by their parents. All six were remanded to appear back before the court on July 9th.
A 15-year-old boy was sent to a remand centre, a 12-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy to a secure unit and the others - a girl aged 13, and two boys aged 10 and 11 - into the care of the local authority.
