Beijing - Almost all the members of the banned Falungong sect in Beijing have "come to their senses" and quit the movement, the Communist Party newspaper the People's Daily reported yesterday. And about 98.9 per cent of Communist Party members in the capital who followed Falungong have also broken off with the sect, the paper added. Praising the success of the crackdown on the movement, the paper said the ban had also aided economic development and preparations for the celebrations of China's 50th National Day.
