London - The parents of choir boys at Westminster Abbey are threatening legal action over fees payable for the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales.
More than £2,500 was paid to the abbey by the BBC and ITN for the dean, Dr Wesley Carr, and the choristers. Choristers' parents say they were shocked that the fees were paid to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund without their consent. A number of parents have complained that they were forced to spend large sums to bring their sons back to the abbey choir school out of term time. They also claim that the fees due to the choirmen and music staff were paid, but the fees to the boys were withheld and forwarded to the fund.
