Dublin Bus says it expects that its Nitelink service will carry 620,000 customers over the Christmas period

Dublin Bus says it expects that its Nitelink service will carry 620,000 customers over the Christmas period. The company was announcing details of the Christmas schedule.

The service, which was introduced on an experimental basis in 1991, has been expanded to cater for growing demand.

It will run between Thursday, December 5th and Saturday, January 4th, excluding Sundays, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. All buses will leave on the hour from points at D'Olier, Street, College Street and Westmoreland Street. The buses will serve 15 different routes, radiating from the city centre, including a route to Maynooth.

Fares will be £2.50, or £4 in the case of Maynooth. The first buses will depart at midnight and the last at 3 a.m.
