Although Harrison Ford didn't make it over for the premiere of his latest film, Air Force One, in the IFC last night, there was a fair amount of the city's hoi polloi there to ensure it went with a bang. The President, Mrs Robinson, opened the proceedings after which the Film Institute chair, Martha O'Neill, and actor Stephen Rea spoke about the film archives which the gala opening was in aid of.
The open-air screening was thronged with people but a few familiar faces were spotted among those enjoying the Wolfgang Petersen film. Ciaran Benson and Patricia Quinn of the Arts Council, Temple Bar Properties chair Pat Kenny and Loretta Brennan Glucksman, chair of the Ireland Funds all came along.
