Manchester City have confirmed they are to review their transport policy for away games after their team coach left without five players after Wednesday night's FA Cup win at Leicester.

Steve McManaman, Robbie Fowler, Joey Barton, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Trevor Sinclair were left at the Walkers Stadium following the 3-1 win.

The quintet had visited the players' bar after the game, but no-one told them the bus was about to leave and manager Kevin Keegan was forced to drive his own car back to the ground to pick them up.

"This has been a genuine mix-up," said City spokesman Paul Tyrrell. "We will now be looking at our transport policy for the squad to away matches."
