Due out next month is , a new book about you know who by Sunday Independent journalist Kevin O'Connor. The author has been observing his subject for 20 years and, the blurb claims, will reveal "how Charlie Haughey spent the money; the explosive inside story of his life, his loves, his enemies."
O'Connor has not had the co-operation of the principals but says others have been most helpful so he can reveal "the good, the bad and the ugly". He gives Haughey much credit, he says, for the advent of the celtic tiger and the Financial Services Centre. O'Connor's manuscript, he told Quidnunc, was passed by the lawyers last week and, he adds cryptically, he has already given a statement to the Moriarty Tribunal, as have two of his sources.
