Darren Clarke topped off an erratic round with three birdies in the final four holes to win the 110-million-yen ($901,000) Chunichi Crowns golf tournament in Togo, Japan today.

The world number-10 Ulsterman fired seven birdies against four bogeys for 67 in the final round to seal his first tournament win in Japan with a four-round total of 13-under-par 267.

"I had a few chances before and I finished the runner-up twice but it's nice to come along to have my first tournament win," said 32-year-old Clarke. "I hope there will be many more to come."

Japan's Keiichiro Fukabori and Shinichi Yokota shared the second spot at 271. American Dean Wilson and another Japanese Tsukasa Watanabe were bunched in fourth spot one stroke further back.
