Rome - Four priests, six nuns and a Catholic brother have been kidnapped by rebel forces in Sierra Leone, Rome-based missionary news agency MISNA said on Monday.
The agency, citing what it called "extremely reliable" eyewitness sources in the African state's devastated capital, Freetown, said the missionaries were abducted in the eastern Kissy district of the city. The priests were seized yesterday while the other victims were kidnapped last Thursday.
MISNA reported last week that the Catholic archbishop of Freetown, Mgr Joseph Henry Ganda (66), had been kidnapped by rebels.
