The closure of a pregnancy counselling clinic in Belfast after the intimidation of staff by anti-abortion campaigners has been condemned by the Alliance Party. Ms Eileen Bell, a North Down Assembly member, said it was shameful that mindless vandalism and intimidation forced the closure of the Ulster Pregnancy Advisory Association on the Lisburn Road after more than 20 years.
The homes of several of the association's counsellors were picketed by the Precious Life group, which has claimed the closure as a "major victory for direct action".
