Washington - President Clinton yesterday called for a "genuine reconciliation" with Iran after the US Secretary of State, Ms Madeleine Albright, publicly opened the door to normalising relations.
"What we want is a genuine reconciliation with Iran based on mutuality and reciprocity," Mr Clinton said at the White House. The Iranians appear "prepared to move away from the support of terrorism and distribution of dangerous weapons, [and] opposition to the peace process" in the Middle East, he added. "We believe Iran is changing positively and we want to support that."
