President Clinton has urged the parties to move quickly to implement the Belfast Agreement in full following Senator George Mitchell's interim report, writes Joe Carroll in Washington.
In a statement issued in Ankara, Turkey, where he is on an official visit, Mr Clinton said he was "heartened" by the report of Mr Mitchell, whom he praises for his "remarkable work."
Mr Clinton who has been closely following developments, said he looked forward to the parties' statements on their positions in the next day or so.
