Two CNN employees were killed and another hurt in an ambush in Iraq, the international television news organization said today.
Mr Duraid Isa Mohammed, a translator and producer, and Mr Yasser Khatab, a driver, were shot dead as they were returning to Baghdad in a two-car convoy, said in a statement.
CNN cameraman Mr Scott McWhinnie was grazed in the head by a bullet.
"Two of our colleagues were killed in an ambush on the outskirts of Baghdad," a CNN anchor said earlier on air.

"They were returning to Baghdad in a two-car convoy from an assignment in the south when assailants opened fire. One of our cameramen ... who was in the other vehicle was grazed in the head by a bullet. He has been treated."
No one else was hurt.
