Racing: Irish and English Guineas winner Cockney Rebel has met with a major injury setback after fracturing his off-side pelvis at Royal Ascot on Tuesday.

Geoff Huffer's stable star suffered the injury when finishing fifth in the St James's Palace Stakes, where he hung badly left in the closing stages.

Although the initial prognosis was a pulled muscle in Cockney Rebel's hind-quarters, a subsequent scan revealed the injury to be worse than expected.

"We got him to the surgery this morning and gave him a scan which showed the fracture," Huffer said.

"He will have the best treatment any horse can have and will be brought back as good as ever - if not better."
