Roddy Collins today laughed off rumours he and brother Steve intend buying Carlisle United.
"What! No, we’re certainly not planning to buy the club, not unless we can get planning permission to build houses!" joked the Dubliner.
The former Bohs boss will find out later today whether his bid to lure Irish U-21 international Michael Reddy from Sunderland to Carlisle has been successful.
"There's about six clubs in for him, so I'm just hoping and praying he'll pick us." Collins told ireland.comthis morning. "I've asked Niall Quinn to have a word in his ear on our behalf, and the lad himself has said he'll make his final decision this evening so hopefully I'll know by tonight".
If Reddy joins Carlisle, he will link up with Dubliner Richie Foran, who joined the club from Shelbourne in a shock move last week. Foran made his debut against league leaders Rochdale last Saturday, but couldn’t help his new team-mates avoid a 2-1 defeat.
"Richie did well in that game" said Collins, "particularly since he only arrived over the previous Thursday. But that’s Richie, nothing fazes him".
