Police in Colorado fired tear-gas at anti-war protesters near the US Air Force Academy, sending at least two to hospital and arresting several others.
Organizers, who claimed the demonstration in the town of Colorado Springs drew around 3,000 protesters, said they chose the site because, in addition to the academy, it is close to a concentration of military facilities, including Petersen Air Force Base, headquarters of the US Joint Military Homeland Defense Command.
