Originally from Derry but now based in Australia, Jimeoin (left) is one of those rare acts whose appeal stretches all the way across the comedic spectrum. A very accomplished stand-up, his set is characterised by an oblique, yet accessible, sense of humour. He's now also the star of his own film, The Craic - which is a sort of semi autobiographical account of his arrival in Australia. Such is his stature Down Under, that the film became the country's second biggest seller, just behind Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert. In Ireland, though, it went straight to video. Jimeoin performs at the Laughter Lounge, Dublin, tonight.
