The Broadcasting Complaints Commission (BCC) upheld complaints in relation to an RTÉ programme presented by economist David McWilliams, in which he was found to have been unfair to trade unionists.
Complaints were also upheld over a programme on Kildare radio station KFM, during which the presenter failed to maintain balance and objectivity.
The Irish Congress of Trade Unions (Ictu) complained about comments made by Mr McWilliams when presenting Ireland's Generation Game, in which he examined the effects of immigration on the economy and society.
Mr McWilliams said immigrants accounted for 10 per cent of the private-sector workforce but only 1 per cent of the public sector, and said: "This may be the result of powerful trade unionists who, although they speak the language of international solidarity, are damned if they are going to let thousands of immigrants drive down their wages."
Ictu said this was subjective and "utterly false and misleading". The BCC said Mr McWilliams gave no explanation for his opinion, which was "not backed up by any facts or further explanation and was therefore unfair to the trade unionists".
The KFM programme involved a discussion with an American-born woman who claimed she and her Irish-born mother were being deported from this State.
The commission found that presenter Noel Shannon endorsed the woman's story and made no attempt to seek input from the relevant authorities.
