Thumbs Down: A Scottish-made vodka drink by the name of Stiffy's Shots has been found to breach the Mature Enjoyment of Alcohol in Society (Meas) code of practice.

The complaint had been brought to the attention of the complaints panel by the Vintners' Federation of Ireland on the grounds that "the word 'stiffy' could suggest that, upon consumption, consumers became more virile and/or attractive to the opposite sex". A second complaint to Meas relating to a whiskey product named Feckin Irish Whiskey, which is produced at the Cooley Distillery, Louth, for the Feckin Drinks Company was not upheld.
