Dissident republican terrorists have admitted planting a bomb which exploded at a police training college in Belfast.

The Continuity IRA said it was behind the attack on the Garnerville compound and warned Catholics against joining the new Police Service of Northern Ireland.

The bomb, which contained commercial explosives, detonated at the perimeter fencing on Tuesday as British army experts were trying to defuse it.

Around 100 people were inside Garnerville at the time, including PSNI recruits who were evacuated from the complex. No one was injured.
