A suspect device was found at a central Dublin hotel late last night.

A suspect device was found at a central Dublin hotel late last night.

Gardai at Store Street are investigating the discovery in the doorway of the Clifton Court hotel on Eden Quay.

They responded to a call at 11.15pm and located the located the device immediately. The area was sealed off and the hotel evacuated.

The Army's Explosive Ordinance Disposal team was called and a controlled explosion was carried out.

Further tests are expected to be carried out on the device this morning.

"No arrests were made and investigations are ongoing," a Garda spokeswoman said.
