The libel case taken by Fianna Fáil TD Beverley Cooper-Flynn against RTÉ and a retired farmer continues at the High Court today.
A former administration employee of National Irish Bank Ms Deirdre Condren yesterday told the court she recalled a portfolio sale to a Mr Howard and having to write him a letter of apology in 1994 over a delay in sending an encashment cheque.
Today is the eleventh day of Ms Cooper-Flynn's proceedings against RTÉ journalist Mr Charlie Bird, and Mr James Howard of Co Louth.
Ms Cooper-Flynn claims she was libelled in broadcasts on RTÉ between June 19th 1998 and July 1st 1998 and words used on the programme claimed she had instigated a scheme the object of which was the evasion of the lawful payment of tax.
The case is being heard before Mr Justice Morris and a jury.
