Cork 2005 yesterday announced details of its line-up of events for autumn and winter with organisers promising that the last four months of the year of culture will be "extra special".

Released yesterday and distributed throughout the city and county, the Autumn and Winter in the City brochure contains all the details of Cork 2005 events from September to the end of the year with more than 200 separate listings.

Throughout the autumn, Cork becomes a festive city with an array of festivals from film, jazz and folk music to early music. Supported by Cork 2005, these annual festivals will feature some added attractions to celebrate the city's year of culture.

In addition to screening a vast selection of films, this year's Cork Film Festival will focus on short film as an art form, with an international symposium and a collection of 100 great short films being screened during the festival.
