A Garda investigation into the fatal shooting of a man in Co Cork is continuing following the examination earlier today of the crime scene where his body was found.
The man, who has not yet been formally identified, was found fatally injured and with gunshot wounds beside a car at Ballydesmond - outside Mallow - at around 10.30pm yesterday, gardaí said.
The road where his body was discovered was closed overnight, and his body remained at the scene.
Today gardaí carried out a technical examination of the area, a spokesman said. A postmortem on the body will follow.
