Gardaí in Cork have broadened their search for a man who is facing charges of killing a Lithuanian man over a year ago.
Raimundas Berzinskas (33), also a Lithuanian, has been missing from his home at St Finbarr's Place, Proby's Quay, Cork since December 15th.
He is in breach of bail conditions imposed after he was charged with the manslaughter of fellow Lithuanian Gintaras Balcionas (38) on the Lower Glanmire Road in the city in October 2005.
The search for Mr Berzinskas has been extended to woodland on the outskirts of the city and an area used to store buses.
Specialist sniffer dogs are being used, and officers have spent the past few days combing around 20 acres of land east of Glanmire, Co Cork. Thirty gardaí are now involved in the search.
Mr Berzinskas, a carpenter, is six feet, two inches tall; of strong build; and with fair, close shaved hair. When last seen he was wearing a dark green waist-length jacket, black trousers, black shoes and a back hooded top with grey print.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the gardaí at Anglesea Street station or their local Garda station.
